So often amidst the whirlwind of holiday school performances, work deadlines, and family celebrations, we lose our inner peace and holiday cheer. We find ourselves stressed out, snapping at our loved ones, and grumbling our way through the festivities. There is nothing like the holidays to bring up our “stuff”— historical family baggage, grief from disappointments and loss, and pressure from extremely high expectations (mostly our own). If this sounds familiar you are not alone. A poll conducted by NBC Dateline and Prevention Magazine found that 41% of the people surveyed rate the holiday season as very stressful.
