The videos below offer examples of students’ experiences with the Still Quiet Place, and excerpts from Dr. Amy’s presentations at national conferences, and local parent education evenings, reviewing the rationale for offering the skills of Mindfulness to children and teens.

The videos provided by Miracle Productions are from an 8 week course in a low-income school in the Redwood City School District.

The videos provided by 4 Tell Films were produced in collaboration with the Mississippi department of Education, as part of the You’ve Gotta Move project, bringing music, movement and mindfulness to school children in Mississippi in an effort o prevent childhood obesity.

Almost Moment- The students and Dr. Amy discuss one boy’s “almost moment”– the moment when he notices he wants to hit his cat, and then CHOOSES not to. Dr. Amy tells the story of a boy in a previous class who had an “almost moment” on the playground.

Discovering Stillness - Part way through the course a boy discovers there really is stillness and quietness within. A classmate notes that he may have discovered it because he closed his eyes.
